VENDOR RULES TO REMEMBER

Make sure you and your staff are familiar with the rules and regulations before selling at our market. A few points to remember.

.  PUNCTUALITY – Our marketplace is open to vendors for set-up 2 hours before market begins. Vendors must be at the marketplace at least an hour before the market opens.

. SELLING TIME – Selling times are between 9am and 2pm. All vendors are required to stay until closing time. Vendors who sell out early should post a sign “Sold Out” and not leave their stalls unattended.

. UNLOADING – Unload your vehicle and move it to a designated Vendor parking lot.

. SIGNAGE – Every vendor needs a sign stating their stall name and contact details.

. ALL PRICES MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED.

. VENDORS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO HAVE GENERATORS. All vendors using electricity need to use the correct extension lead – NOT A NORMAL HOUSE EXTENSION LEAD!!! Please make sure all your plugs are waterproof and connected correctly.

. STALL SPACE CLEAN UP – All vendors are responsible for a complete clean-up of their space at close of market. PACK UP AND TAKE ALL TRASH. Vendor generated garbage is not allowed in the market garbage bins.

. NO ALCOHOL TO BE CONSUMED BY VENDORS WHILE WORKING!!!!

. FOODTRUCKS AND FOOD STALLS – Please bring your own dirt bins and place it at your stall.

. FOOD AND BEVERAGE STALLS – Those handling food, ice etc. must wear gloves and Hair Nets. Those handling food cannot handle cash. Do not pour waste liquid on the ground.

. PERMITS – All vendors selling edible food and beverages need to display their CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE AT THEIR STALL.

. CERTIFICATES – All vendors operating with LPG need to have the General Certificate of Conformity for gas Installations available on request the and those that operate electrical equipment to have the General Electrical Installation Certificate of Compliance available on request.

. FLAMABLE LIQUIDS – If any Vendor has or intends to use any flammable liquid other than LPG prior discussion with the Events Organiser needs to be made to formalise the suitability and the terms and conditions. This includes but is not limited to fat and oil.

. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS – All food vendors operating with LPG or electricity to have a 4.5kg CO2 fire extinguisher. All other stalls to have a 2kg DPC fire extinguisher.

. SAFE STRUCTURES – It is the responsibility of vendors to ensure that structures, gazebos and covers are sturdy and fastened so that it is wind proof. Any injuries caused while erecting structures, during the event and dismantling thereof is the responsibility of the Vendor.

. EMERGENCY EVACUATION POINT – Every vendor and their staff to orientate themselves as to where the main evacuation point is should there be an emergency. Vendors and their staff shall follow the instructions of the Event Organiser or Event Safety Officer in an emergency.

The Rules are established in terms of the Safety ant Sports and Recreation Events Act 2 of 2010 and the SANS Specification 10366:2012
